Outfit of the day! The desi look

Hey everyone,

I thought I would share my outfit for my cousin sister's wedding. I had been planning to wear a parandi for so long but never got a chance. Finally I thought of wearing it for one of my sister's wedding. The look was totally Punjabi. Let me know what you think about it.

Oh and all of that hair is not mine. When I got to know that I would have to use some extra hair my reaction was like 'ewwwwwwwww'. Anyways I kept aside my feelings and gave my hair over to the lady who did this hairdo.

Do comment and let me know what you think of it :) Take care.

Oriflame blending brush review

Hey guys,

Here is the review on a brush that I have been meaning to review since so long but never got around to it. It is a very affordable brush from Oriflame cosmetics. How I found the quality to be? Read on to know more.

Price:- 169/- when I bought it

When I first saw this brush in the catalog I thought that it is a pretty inexpensive brush and does deserve a try. I ordered it and tried it. But unfortunately I found the brush a bit harsh to be used on the eyelids. I am not sure if I have very thin eyelids or something but any brush that is even a little bit harsh irritates the eyes. And this brush ended up being a bit too rough.

I had ordered this transparent finishing powder because I had a feeling that it would be really nice in setting the concealer. Oh boy and did my intuition turn true. I have been using this powder for over two months now and here goes the review for it.

Price:- I got this sample size for almost 3 $, don’t really know the price for the full size.

Mac eyeshadow review- Soft brown

Hey guys,

The review for this eye shadow was long pending and I thought I should do it today itself. I hunted for this eye shadow in so many Mac store but none of them had it. Apparently it had been discontinued in India a few months back. Then I hunted for its dupes in Inglot and other brands but somehow none of them looked like this one. It was then that I asked my cousin to send me this eye shadow, when my aunt came to India. And luckily she got it at a Mac store there and sent it to me and I was all happy!

Price:- $11 in Usa and 720/- in India

Maybelline color sensational lipstick in Fatal red review

Hey everyone,

Here I got with my review of another inexpensive red lipstick for you all. The earlier one I reviewed was a Lakme one in number 352 which is also a gorgeous red. Here I am reviewing another one that I won in a gift hamper sent to me by urbantouch for winning their mother’s day contest. It had many reds and other darker colours because it was supposed to be for my mom. But since my mom does not use such a ‘Fatal red’ colour I kept it for myself. J

Price:- 299/- or 350/- I am not sure since I won it

Lakme eyeconic mascara review

Hey guys,

Here is my review on the recently very popular mascara which is the Lakme’s eyeconic mascara. Eyeconic is a very affordable mascara which claims to give you super curled eyelashes. I have been trying out this mascara for about 2 months now and thought of reviewing it for you guys today.

Price:- 200 or 250/- Don’t remember the exact amount

I never prefer to buy mascaras which are really expensive, the reason being that they expire in about 6 months and grow bacteria and all which can cause harm and infections to your eyes. So spending more than 400 on mascara according to me is a waste. Besides almost all the mascaras do the same work. This mascara fit my bill perfectly and I also wanted to give it a try. So here goes the review.

Colorbar newly launched blush swatches

Hey guys,

I was spending killing some time in my local New U store when I asked the lady at the Colorbar counter about these newly launched blushes. She showed me the testers which actually looked as if they were pieces to be sold. But in actual the blushes have nt arrived yet, only their testers. Anyhow I swatched the colors in the store so you can get an idea about them. :)

Oh and the price is 650/- which I think is a little too much for Colorbar.

Enjoy the pictures :)

Mac blush review- Peaches

Hey everyone,

How are you all doing? Finally after so many days I have lots of free time to write for my blog. I had been so wrapped up in work and my cousin's wedding that my blog went too ignored. Anyhow I am going to write about my second blush from Mac which is Peaches. I bought this blush a few months back when I went crazy for the color Peach. I wanted everything peach from blush to eye shadow to lipcolor. After reading lots of good reviews about this blush I decided to give it a try. The SA tried Peaches and Melba on me. And I don’t know if its because of how he applied the color or maybe the color of my skin but melba looked as if someone had just slapped me. So I went for peaches inspite of him convincing me that melba looked better. How I liked it, read on.

Price:- 1350/-

Lotus herbals purestay face powder- 03 Hazelnut star review

Hey guys,

I know I am posting after so longgggg. Ever since I took up a job my blog has suffered so much. I try to update daily but my internet connection sucks!!! Anyway this is a long pending post. Today I am going to review this new face powder that I got, its from the new Lotus range and I have been using it a lot lately. So read on to know what I think about it.

Price:- 595/-

I bought this powder because I was lusting so much after this collection. I swatched it in store and liked it so I bought it. It comes in a very pretty purple cover which looks very sophisticated and is so stretchable. It makes my sister and me wish that we had pajamis (leggings) of this material.

The texture of the powder is so smooth. I mean it literally crumbles under your hand, its that smooth. It spreads evenly and looks smooth. It gives a very good coverage as you always tend to pick up a lot on the brush. The applicator thing that comes along is almost useless. Its so thin, I think it should have been a bit more fluffy. There is a plastic covering separating the powder and the sponge. Personally I think that covering prevents the powder to be wasted with fall outs.

There is a lot of fall out from the powder when you use it since it is so smooth. I dont like that fact because I find it a bit untidy. I would compare this powder with Mac's powder plus foundation in terms of the coverage and its feel.

My personal favorite is still Mac's mineralize skin finish but this is not bad either. It is not too good on the oil control part because I feel my skin becomes oily in about 2 hours even in this weather and in A.C environment. There is not too much oil just a little shine on my face. It is not a big bother as you can also use blotting papers to get rid of it but then people with extremely oily skin may not like it much.

It has SPF 20 but I would say it is of no use because any makeup product with SPF is only effective if it is the first thing that goes on your face. So there is no point in putting SPF ina  face powder since we always moisturize before using makeup or always apply sunscreen before makeup. I dont really think that this powder removes any fine lines, wrinkles etc.
See what a good match it is for my skintone.

Overall, it is a decent powder and performs its job well. There are 5 shades available and you should match yourself before buying it. You should really check if the texture is to your liking or not.

PROS:-
1. Classy packaging
2. Affordable
3. Smooth texture
4. Good color selection

CONS:-
1. Fall out due to smooth texture
2. Availability maybe an issue

My rating:- 3.8/5

Have a great week guys! :)

Sigma F 80 brush review

Hey everyone,

How are you all doing? I just read that Sephora has opened up in Delhi, that is absolutely amazing and I cant wait till my next Delhi trip so that I can see that store. Today I will be reviewing my favorite brush for foundation ever, it is from Sigma. I believe a flawless face can be achieved by the right use of products. As for foundation, you need to make sure that it is well blended so that it looks as natural as possible. Read on to know more as to how I use this brush to achieve that kind of a face.

Price:- $16

Availability:- www.sigmabeauty.com and www.B2Nshop.com

The brush does seem a bit expensive at first but I believe it is worth it. When it comes to foundation you need to ensure that it is nicely buffed in so that it does not show up on your face. With this brush either you can blend your foundation with it or go over your foundation to ensure that any excess it removed and the rest nicely buffed in.

If you need full coverage then one should dot the foundation on the face and then blend with this brush. If you require a medium coverage then you can apply the foundation with your fingers and to give it a good finish go over it with this brush. I like to use it the second way.

Coming to this brush, it is so soft and has never shed a single hair. It is soft and does not scratch my face. I hate brushes that make my face hurt. This is not among those. It feels really soft and does its job well. I have washed it many time but the bristles are still intact and there is no falling out of hair.

I dont think that this brush is difficult to clean. Its pretty easy and becomes clean asily. I would always recommend you all to wash your face brushes atleast once a week to avoid any skin troubles and all.

Overall I love this brush and the effect it gives to my foundation. It is definitely Holy Grail for me. If you guys do not want to spend as much on this brush there are a few cheap options, you could try the ELF flat top buffer brush and I also saw a flat top brush at New U from a brand called QVS. Although I do have a flat top brush from a chinese site www.buyincoins.com too but it is not as soft. If you guys really want to invest in a good brush I would highly recommend this one.

PROS:-
1. Soft
2. Bristles dont shed
3. Easy to clean
4. Less expensive as compared to Mac and other such brands
5. Gives full coverage when used with any foundation
6. Buffs very well

CONS:-
1. Available only through online sites

My rating:- 5/5

I highly recommend. Have you used it? Do share your views with me :)

Outfit of the day, the red way!

Hey everyone,

Hope you guys had an amazing weekend. I had fun with my sister this weekend. We went for some shopping, a movie ( Skyfall ) and then dinner. The weekend was really nice and I loved dressing up. I chose to wear my casual red Guess top along with jeans and my favorite beige heels. I love these heels so much. They are super comfortable and I have no issues going shopping wearing them since they dont hurt my feet.

You can see me wearing the same heels here too.

My makeup for today!

Hey everyone,

Here I go with another makeup of the day post. When I woke up in the morning I had decided to do something totally different with my look. But I just changed it entirely. I used a light brown matte eyeshadow all over the lid and filled in a purple colour lightly in the crease, it does not show up as purple in the pictures but it was showing up other wise. For lips I chose a pink lip color.

Here are the pictures of it :)

Site I would never recommend : tradus.com

Hey everyone,

So long back I started writing these blog posts with reviews of different websites. Till now I have only written positive reviews, but here I go with a negative one too.

Around ten days ago my sister and I ordered pen drives from www.tradus.com. She ordered a pink coloured one and I ordered a cute printed pink pen drive. I was so happy with my order and so excited to when I got the parcel. But on opening I see that one pink pen drive is there but the other one is an old looking black pen drive which is no where near to what I ordered. I thought that I would just query the website and let them know.

But the website is so unprofessional that inspite of me sending them about 6 emails and also emailing the seller asking him about my product, I have received no reply. I also called them every single day since the past 3 days but no one picks up my call. Now you people tell me as consumers is it right for some site to show you entirely something else and then send you a totally different product and moreover have such a bad consumer support that they dont even reply to any emails or pick up the calls. This is totally fraud and I dont think it is acceptable.

So I would like to warn you all to be wary of such websites. My item did not cost a lot but what if someone orders a very expensive thing and then gets something else in return. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Has anything like this every happened to you? Share your views with me.

I would never recommend www.tradus.com to any of you guys.

Take care!

I love the color, pigmentation and the lasting power. I ll post a review on it soon. I shall also be posting Lotus purestay lip gloss review soon.

For this makeup look, I used painterly paint pot on my eyelids and then used Mac eye shadow in all that glitters. All that glitters is my staple eye shadow when I want to use any coloured eye liner. For my cheeks I m wearing Mac blush in peaches and Lotus pure stay lip gloss in Pink hypnotic. Hope you guys like the look. Let me know what you think.

Lotus herbals Basiltone review

Hey guys,

So this is a long pending post of mine. You can see that from the quantity of my toner. I have been using this toner a lot and just ignoring to review it. Finally I thought of reviewing it before the bottle gets empty. Lotus herbals is a very good skincare and makeup brand and I love most of their products. This toner I bought because it was for oily to combination skintones and my skin is combination. Read on to know how I liked it.

Price:- 185/-

So I have become toner obsessed lately and I always use a toner before applying my moisturizer. I have been using this toner almost every single day since I bought it. It really works well, does not sting and does not make my face feel dry and stretchy. It removes all the excess oil when I use it. It makes my face matte ( but not flat) for about 3 hours after which the nose area starts shining again.

The best part about this toner is that it feels like water but does more than that. It also removes any excess makeup or oil on my face. It does not sting unlike some other toners ( Yes, you Biotique ). So I know that it is good for sensitive skin too. It has another variant which is for dry to normal skin.

The toner has a spray nozzle and hence you guys can spray it directly on the face too. This is easy for people who dont want to use cotton or are lazy ( :-P )

The oil removing effect is not too long but then I cannot blame the product for that since the weather was really hot the past few months. If you guys want to switch over from your toners I urge you to give it a try. It is really inexpensive and lasts long.

PROS:-
1. Affordable
2. Does not sting
3. Removes any excess oil
4. Does not dry out the skin
5. Did not break me out

CONS:-
1. The oil free effect lasts only for a few hours

My rating:- 4/5

Hopefully I will be back in my blogging form soon, till then I hope you guys stick with me! :)

Affordable must have makeup brushes!

Hey guys,

I washed most of my brushes today as I had to pack them along to the new city I am moving to. While packing them I thought that I would do a post on the affordable must have brushes. So this post is going to be more picture heavy. Most of the brushes are from E.L.F which is available in India but at a higher cost. So I would strongly recommend that you definitely get these brushes from Usa if you're going there or if someone you know is. Although all the E.L.F brushes are not that soft but many of them are. So here goes the post, if you guys have any queries feel free to ask :)

Also for the next few days my blog may be a little ignored till the time I dont get a fast internet connection, but I hope all of you stick with me! :)

Essence Stay Natural concealer review- Soft honey

Hey everyone,

Hope all of you are doing well.  On my recent trip to Switzerland and Paris I picked up a few makeup items. This concealer was my first buy from Switzerland and I am so glad that I took out the time to buy it since this was the only place I could do some inexpensive Essence shopping. I looked a lot for Catrice but unfortunately it was missing in the store that I went to. But one thing that caught my eye was this concealer. I really wanted to try something like a pen because it sort of reminds me of the YSL Touche Eclat which I have been longing to try but found too expensive. Essence is a European brand which is mostly found there or in Usa. Fortunately, there were testers for this available at the store which made it easier for me to find out a colour match. I matched with their darkest shade Soft honey, it is such a good match I cant even tell you. This gets me to thinking what people darker than me would go for. All the other colours were too light for my skintone.

Mac lipsick review- Creme in your coffee

Hey everyone,

I am back with another lipstick review. Yeah, I am kind of a lipstick fan. I love using lipcolors and lip balms, they make my lips look so healthy. The colour I am going to review today is a Cremesheen finish lipstick from Mac called Creme in your coffee. I had originally bought this lipcolor in place of Cosmo, but ultimately ended up buying Cosmo too. This color has become my sister's favorite one and she uses it a lot.

Price:- 990/-
Finish- Cremesheen

This time I am reviewing the pink guava one that I picked up on impulse but love it totally! Here goes the review:-

Outfit of the day- Maroon capris!

Hey guys,

I thought I would post this outfit of the day of mine. I recently bought maroon/burgundy coloured capris from Woodland. They look super pretty and the colour is so in. I paired it with my Mango top which I also wore in the outfit post here. While in that post I wore it as a formal shirt, here I tucked it in and put on a big belt to make it more dressy. Hope all of you like it. Let me know your thoughts :)
